Secrets to Beautiful Skin

This has to be one of my favorites subject to talk about. I had so much acne and so many skin conditions when I was in my teens, I thought I was doomed forever until I learned the secret to beautiful skin. Guess what - it wasn’t Proactive! I learned that stress, bad diet, and lack of exercise was the key to my terrible skin. I was previously on an endless journey trying every topical cream, potion, and lotion that would heal my skin and it kept getting worse. I decided to stop using all the miracle products, wash my face daily, and clean up my bad diet, and that ended up being the ticket to change my skin. Now that I'm older and in my late twenties, I've figured out that I not only need nutritional support internally but also external support as well. I've fallen in love with my skin routine , and want to give you some insight on my 10-year journey to beautiful skin.

What You Eat Creates Your Skin

In the average diet, we eat so many inflammatory foods that cause the skin to breakout such as:

  • Hydrogenated oils
  • Excess sugars
  • Too many omega 6 fatty acids
  • To many estrogenic toxins
  • Soda and excess caffeine was one of the worst triggers for me.

I was so out of balance on what I ate and drank my skin was always inflamed when I was younger and it didn’t heal until 1 year of detox.

  • I added in more fruits and vegetables.
  • Increased my water intake.
  • Cut out all my addictions to sugar and caffeine.
  • I also stopped eating meat, which was a really inflammatory food to me.
  • I also reduced my stress level.
  • Just think- if we want a pizza face, then we can just down a pizza.

Topical Solutions

I have now started a great organic skin routine.

  • Washing your face is key. I use an organic face wash from Acure.
  • I also use toner: an astringent substance used to further clean the skin.
  • Moisturizer is key especially if you have dry skin.
  • Two times a week I would use a clay mask to draw out toxins and tone the skin.
  • I would also exfoliate once a week to get rid of the dead skin cells.
  • For more complex treatments, I would recommend seeing a holistic skin care specialist.
  • I use brands like Acure, John Masters, and Mychelle as great choices for organic skin care products.

Conclusion

I want everyone to have clear skin. I gained so much confidence after my skin healed. Skin health is the outward organ that is showing what is going on internally. Stay tuned for the next blog where we will be talking about gallbladder and liver health.
